Google is the social backbone - O'Reilly Radar →
Some great analysis.  It is without a doubt that google+ is Not Only a Facebook killer (it won’t kill facebook), but is much more.  It is the start of the next generation. In the near term I see it replacing my use of Facebook, Tumblr, and my photo blog (Blogger). Read the whole article, excellent insight.

THE WAR PRESIDENT 275 →
I really have no idea who AFP are or what their agenda may be.  But the article makes sense of Obama’s behavior.  He can admit that he needs Congressional approval for his war in Libya because he is fighting the exact same kind of illegal war in Yemen and Pakistan (and maybe other places that we don’t yet know about!!).  Since Libya is obviously illegal (even Whitehouse lawyers know...

Googleopoly: The Definitive Guide To Antitrust... →
Good, break them up.  And smash the larger companies too.  In the US you can pretty much tell how evil a company is by looking at its revenue stream….profit does not exist in nature….  It is a wholly human invented concept of theft from the poor…a tax the rich impose on the poor.  I would love to see Google broken into 3 or 4.

Another view….Apple performs a murder suicide pact with Windows….Mac OS is just as dead….but so is Windows.  Cringely forgets that MS won’t be sitting still.  My view is that now that Apple has invented wireless syncing, the PC becomes a dumb platform.

Mac OS X, 6 Years Between Releases?
Leopard was released in 2007, Snow Leopard released in 2009 with no major new features, now Lion in 2011 with full screen apps being the big seller….puts Ocelot in 2013?  This sounds a lot like XP….with a service pack every couple of years….  I thought the Mac faithful hated full screen apps? Or did Apple just invent them?  I am guessing there is an inverse correlation between...

Good thing Obama ended Bush’s war of convenience. Watching Obama’s presidency unfold is a little like being in Animal Farm. “The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.” George Orwell

Are the feds torturing the Patriot Act for... →
Read the article closely.  The Cato Institute (the right) and Russ Feingold (the left) both claim Obama is misusing the Patriot Act in ways that Bush never dreamed of.  A democracy can not exist shrouded in secrecy. As Claire Wolf teaches: “America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.”
